Asia @ World Junior Chess Championships

WGM Guo Qi of China won the the World Junior Girls Chess Championship after last year’s champion Cori Deysi of Peru crashed to a rare double defeat in the last two rounds while Ding Liren of China finished with third place in Fide World Junior Chess Championship.

Neither it was bad for Indians with especially creditable performances by Sahaj Grover and Debashis Das who completed nine game Grand Master norms. Former under 10 world champion Sahaj Grover became a Grandmaster by defeating Jorge Cori of Peru in the ninth round.
