Who’s Winning?

I must admit to not having followed the Candidates Tournament in London too closely; it’s a far cry from my own chess efforts in helping older improvers plus my own ten year old son. Having said that it’s good to see that the two players who are leading (Magnus Carlsen and Levon Aronian) exemplify my philosophy of excelling in core skills. This should make those who spend their time studying opening theory think twice about the efficacy of their approach. Probably it won’t.
