Accelerated Dragon Trick

Here’s Igor and Gleb again demonstrating a well known trick from a Fischer – Reshevsky encounter. This appeared on my Tricks and Traps I DVD though I now regret not using a fake accent during my presentation.

The Accelerated Dragon (1. e4 c5 2. Nf3 Nc6 3. d4 cxd4 4. Nxd4 g6) is actually a great choice at club level, mainly because White’s Pavlovian response is to play 5. Nc3 Bg7 6. Be3 Nf6 7. f3 O-O 8.Qd2 allowing the excellent 8…d5!.
