As Everybody Knows

As everybody knows the line 1.e4 e5 2.Nf3 Nf6 3.Nxe5 Nxe4 is bad for Black because of 4.Qe2 as when the knight retreats 5.Nc6+ will pick up the queen. But in fact it isn’t that easy after 4…Qe7 5.Qxe4 d6.

The middle aged businessman Vladimir Afromeev, whose meteoric rise has seen him achieve a place in the World’s top 100 players (with a current rating of 2646), is something of a specialist in this line. He probably saves himself oodles of time by playing this rather than the Dragon or Najdorf and can then devote himself to his business activities.
