Dan Staples is based in York, England. He has worked for the charity, Chess in Schools and Communities since 2011. He was a tutor in Hammersmith and Fulham then London Coordinator.
Since his move North to Yorkshire two years he has coordinated CSC’s activities in Yorkshire and elsewhere. He has taught chess in many schools and libraries.
He plays for York in the Yorkshire Woodhouse Cup and in the local York evening league. He enjoys tournaments but with two young sons time is limited.
His sons are currently more interested in football than chess but he’s working on it. Their mother knows the moves but doesn’t share Dan’s passion.
