FIDE World Cup 1982: Spassky – Timman

Here are Spassky and Timman again, this time with colours reversed. This time they discuss a Closed Sicilian which is often recommended as a good opening for club players. But despite the fact that you can get by without knowing much ‘theory’ I have my reservations, the reason being that you need a high level of positional understanding to handle this kind of flexible strategic game.
