My Games With Yuri Razuvaev

I was quite sad to hear about the death of Yuri Razuvaev, a genuinely nice person and a highly knowledgeable player and coach. I played three games against him and learned much from each encounter.

The second game in particular was of great significance to me as it helped set up my second Grandmaster norm, on this occasion I managed to win by using one of his vulnerable spots (he didn’t like attacks on his king). The other two were demonstrations of Razuvaev’s great knowledge of chess, I was outplayed from the start:
