The British Championship Starts

The British Championship got under way yesterday in North Shields.

I’m not playing myself for several reasons. First of all nobody asked me (GMs are used to being invited to tournaments, especially their national championship) and in any case it would be difficult to create free time. Having said that I will be visiting the event with my son later this week.

Here’s a nice preview of the event by International Master Andrew Martin. Andrew will be manning the commentary room which is sure to be entertaining.
