Yes Jeremy, that’s a very good question. And personally I think it’s a great shame that FIDE has been allowing incremental time limits (a basic time bank plus so many seconds for each move) which helps time trouble addicts manage their allotment rather better. Gone is the spectacle of someone tearing their hair out in a desperate attempt to play 20 moves in a minute and this ruins chess as a spectator sport..
