The Master Game: Short – Hort

Here’s a tough struggle between the youthful Nigel Short and one of the best players in the World at that time, Vlastimil Hort.

One funny thing about this video is Hort’s expression ‘more happier’, which is something that my 9 year old son might say (despite constant reminders from me). Has he been watching Vlastimil Hort clips without my knowing?

In any case this is a nice example of Hort’s classy endgame technique which without good defense from Short could have carried the day.
